About PoliMap
PoliMap is a data-driven platform that visualizes the political positions of public figures — politicians, influencers, and media channels — on a 2D spectrum. AI (Google Gemini) analyzes public statements and articles to set initial positions, which are then gradually adjusted through citizen votes.
Our first goal is to provide citizens with objective political positioning data. By combining AI analysis with crowd-sourced voting, we help people understand where public figures stand on the political spectrum at a glance.
PoliMap is built for public interest and does not intend to advocate for any political position or defame any individual. We publish our formula below for full transparency.
How It Works
Bayesian Average Formula
PoliMap combines AI analysis and user votes using a "Bayesian average". When votes are few, AI analysis dominates. As votes accumulate, user opinion gains more weight.
current_position = (ai_weight × ai_position + vote_sum) / (ai_weight + vote_count)- ai_weight (default 100): AI analysis weight. Votes must reach this number to equal AI influence.
- ai_position: Initial position analyzed by AI based on public data
- vote_sum: Sum of all user votes
- vote_count: Total number of votes
2D Spectrum: X and Y Axes
X-axis — Ideology
0 = Very Progressive ← → 100 = Very Conservative
Y-axis — Economy
0 = Interventionist ← → 100 = Libertarian

- 0 votes → AI 100%
- 100 votes → AI 50% + Users 50%
- 500 votes → AI ~17% + Users ~83%
